When I was about five years old, I began picking out melodies on the piano. We soon discovered that I had perfect pitch (about 1 in 10,000 persons have this trait), and I began playing songs by ear. We found a wonderful piano teacher that I took lessons from in grade school. Then I had the good fortune to study with Wally Brown, a legendary Oklahoma City musician, during my high school years. While I never considered a music career, playing the piano and organ has been a very important part of my life.
